Pohlman
Big Day Statistics:
- 56 species (see
checklist below)
- 0400 to 1630 hours
- Visiting:
Kapiolani Pk, Makakilo, Aiea Hts Trail, Sea Life Park, Enchanted Lake,
Nuupia Ponds, James Campbell NWR.
- Species
of Note: Killdeer (Vagrant)
Comments:
Because I give birding tours at James Campbell N.W.R., I've been able
to keep track of new migrants coming and where they like to hang
out. Also with some scouting of Makakilo and a little luck, I was
able to get a decent count. I still had to run up some trails to
get a few species like Elepaio, Apapane, and Amakiki. And the
staked out Killdeer and Black Francolin helped along with a lucky Brown
Noddy. Still a Oahu record could be broken as long as James
Campbell has its regular migrants.
